Job Description

Situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains, in Louisville, Colorado, Balfour’s Louisville senior living communities enjoy no fewer than 300 days of sunshine a year. POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the floors of the community, ensuring high quality care on all floor surfaces (hard, carpeted, tile) in multiple locations. In this position you will use carpet cleaners, buffer machines, and industrial size vacuums to complete detailed floor work. The successful candidate may also work as a Housekeeper and will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing resident’s rooms and other areas in the community following both structured and unstructured cleaning assignments. In this role you will follow the community cleaning schedule and dispose of waste in accordance with established policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Interacts with residents, families, staff, and other visitors to the community in a pleasant, respectful, and courteous manner

  • Honor residents’ personal and property rights and maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information

  • Report losses and damages of residents’ laundry and property and turn in any found items

  • Acts as a positive representative of the community at all times

  • Demonstrates knowledge of infection control throughout the community

  • Clean and sanitize residents’ rooms and other areas of the community in accordance with cleaning schedules and in accordance with current federal, state, OSHA, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the community

  • Assure rooms and community are maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner

  • Reports all accidents and hazardous conditions/equipment, as established by department policies

  • Disposes of waste in accordance with established policies

  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency policies and procedures

  • Assists in maintaining storage areas in a clean and orderly manner

  • Follows established guidelines when using equipment, supplies, and chemicals


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • One-year experience with floor maintenance preferred

  • Previous Housekeeping experience preferred

  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others

  • Ability to maintain a customer focus treating all customers with respect and integrity

  • Ability to accept responsibility for agreements made and follow through as appropriate

  • Ability to perform heavy cleaning with experience in carpet cleaners, industrial size vacuums and have knowledge of commercial chemicals

  • Ability to work within both structured and unstructured cleaning assignments

  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English

  • Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Ability to climb, stoop, bend, push, pull and lift in excess of 50 pounds as necessary to perform required cleaning tasks as assigned throughout the workday

  • Willingness to work around odors, chemicals, and extreme temperature changes throughout the community

Until further notice, interviews will take place virtually. Newly-hired associates will complete Balfour Senior Living's New Hire Orientation virtually, then receive important training about how to keep our residents, and themselves, as healthy as possible. This includes things like hand washing and social distancing. You will also follow wellness protocols developed under guidance of health agencies before entering any of our buildings.
