Job Description

Flexographic Printing Press Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents.
  • Set up, operation and shut down of flexographic printing line:
  • Verify paper, ink and printing plates are correct per work order.
  • Web paper through press, embosser, and sheeter.
  • Install printing plates on print roller and place in press.
  • Install, adjust, and clean doctor blade assembly.
  • Cleans anilox roll as required.
  • Set up of slitter knives located on sheeter.
  • Checks and adjusts ink viscosity as required.
  • Maintain printed product to required length, width, and print color.
  • Transfers data to the daily production log, quality control documents or forms used in the production process.
  • Follow the production schedule and other related documents necessary to produce and meet customer orders including those with instructions.
  • Communicate line malfunctions in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimal.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 35lbs. or more consistently. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be willing and able to work on a 12-hour A or B shift schedule.
  • Basic math skills to complete the calculation and measurement of the product.
  • Be able to perform length, gauge, and weight measurements
  • Use of hand tools, such as wrenches, scrapers, screwdrivers, tape measures, micrometers, etc.
  • Be able to visually inspect the product for defects.
  • Flexo Graphic Printing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing/Machine Operator: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

  • High School or GED. (Required)

Shifts:

  • 12 hours rotating on and off during a 7-day schedule.
  • Must be willing to work A or B shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
