Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing, a member of the NationaLease system, is looking for diesel technicians to perform repairs and maintenance for our lease customers in our Rancho Dominguez California facility.

You’ll be working with all facets of truck components and diagnosing and repairing accordingly.

What You’ll Do

  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting Preventive Maintenance Inspections; oil changes; Chassis lubrication and identifying worn and damaged parts
  • Inspections to be performed at multiple locations which could include inclement weather at times
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing inclement weather procedures
  • Corrects light repairs and vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling components, parts, or systems, such as, electrical, brake, steering, hydraulics; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, wheel ends, brake adjustments, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
  • Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
  • Performs tire repairs, replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting on and off of vehicles as needed
  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Keeps shop Service Trucks and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent required
  • Post-Secondary vocational education strongly preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field
  • Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License or obtain it within 180 days of employment.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Company Policies in all areasMust have a basic set of hand tools up to 1 ½”and ½ drive pneumatics
