Due to our continued growth and commitment to providing exceptional client service, we are looking for a hardworking individual, to fill a full-time Financial Planning Assistant/ Paraplanner position. We area well-established woman and locally owned financial planning firm and have been in business for over 30 years. The position requires someone who is eager to learn, detailed oriented, able to take direction but confident enough to take the lead when necessary. The financial industry is changing every day and we need an associate to join our team of professionals that will be able to deal with quick changes and enjoys making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Job Description

What you will do:

  • Assist Financial Planner in identifying and serving the needs of our clients
  • Build and maintain data in Client Relationship Manager (CRM)
  • Run Morningstar reports and other investment analysis reports, as needed
  • Prepare detailed meeting agendas outlining facts, goals, implementation timelines, etc.
  • Prepare for client investment and annual reviews by summarizing investment performance, account values and benchmark comparisons
  • Prepare life insurance and long-term care illustrations
  • Prepare risk tolerance analysis and retirement illustrations
  • Provide technical support for investment and protection related implementation including tracking and handling underwriting issues, completing forms/apps for client signatures, tracking 401k rollovers, IRA transfers and 1035 exchanges
  • Track ongoing cases and keep them moving forward through implementation
  • Debrief with planner after client meetings and complete tasks accordingly

What we prefer or expect of you:

  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 license or ability to earn license within agreed upon time from hire date
  • Life, accident and health insurance license or ability to earn license within agreed upon time from hire date
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical savvy to learn and utilize Commonwealth software systems, Morningstar, and various online illustration tools and software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate level of understanding of traditional financial services products (e.g., mutual funds, bonds, insurance) preferred
  • Willingness and desire to serve in local community projects or client events

Success measures:

  • Advisor is prepped and ready for each client appointment with forms, presentations and documents required
  • Client requests are handled professionally and in a timely manner
  • Documents reflect professional quality
  • All client correspondence, handouts and plans are compliant, documented and produced on time
  • Clients are kept apprised of issues and applications so there are no “surprises”
  • Procedures are documented and communicated to promote cross-training
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to share ways to improve, acknowledge team accomplishments and build positive working relationships

Compensation approach:

We offer a competitive base salary based on industry experience, licensing and designations. We provide our employees a Health Insurance after 30 days. After one year of employment you will be eligible for our Profit Sharing and the opportunity to contribute to a 401(k).

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
