Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Field Human Resources Manager will drive effective Human Resources tactics, processes and programs for Jack’s in specified Regions. This role will support 70-90 restaurant locations and require you to be in the field approximately 75% of the time.

You will function as a Human Resources Generalist, leader, advisor and direct point of contact in regards to people related strategies that include Recruiting, Employee Engagement, Policy and Procedure Compliance, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Succession Planning and Retention.

The Field Human Resources will drive employee performance and talent through open conversations to attract, engage, train, develop and retain our team.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

· Ensure that the process for new hires (interviewing, prescreening, onboarding and training that encourages participation) is executed to increase engagement and retention

· Demonstrate subject matter expertise for their respective territories by ensuring compliance to mandatory labor laws, acts, and fair practices; is always abreast and proactive to upcoming changes for the city, state, and federal labor statutes or by-laws that impact and protect our people and company; and “go-to” expert on associate relations

· Coach Operations leadership on employee relations matters to promote a people first culture and achieve a resolution without litigation; involve Director of Human Resources/ Vice President of Human Resources on complex issues

· Coach for performance, and heightening service levels to ensure execution is compatible with Jack’s mission, culture and values; is an advocate of the employee/manager relationship to increase engagement and retention

· Conduct investigations involving high liability (sexual harassment, discrimination, hour and wage, EEO) Team Member complaints and disputes and prepare documentation of issues to decrease third party claims

· Build a strong and collaborative partnership with the Operations team to achieve goals for Manpower Planning, Talent Development, Staffing levels, Retention, Engagement, Development, questioning existing practices, and ensure appropriate staffing levels

· Drive, lead, execute and follow up on Region manpower planning sessions

· Strengthen succession two levels deep

1. Play a pivotal role in local recruiting activities

  • Use data to execute recruiting strategy and needs, forecast, source and hire to fill vacant positions on a timely basis to support company growth
  • Partner with Director of Human Resources in development and execution of regional staffing plans and recruiting strategy to ensure both an internal and external pipeline of candidates; including new restaurants
  • Has the ability to analyze people metrics to execute results on the performance score card and drive a high performing culture
  • Champion the Team Member experience and elevate field leadership through coaching of engagement survey results, exit interview results, safety and conducting effective field visits to identify opportunities for improved retention
  • Partner with Operations Training Manager to deliver and facilitate training sessions related to HR when needed to drive people strategies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications/Functional Skills:

· Ability to work a flexible schedule and 50 hours a week

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management teams, colleagues, Team Members, guest and vendors

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • A minimum of five years of progressive Human Resource Generalist Manager responsibilities in a people focused environment
  • Multi-unit restaurant or retail experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal, State and Local legislation and Labor Laws (multi-State preferred)
  • Computer savvy (PC required) with ability to learn new software/programs, if needed
  • Professional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing, and verbal communication

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
