Position description

The Mayo Clinic Division of Hematology is recruiting an outstanding biomedical scientist with expertise applicable to multiple myeloma for the Rochester, MN campus. The candidate will have a PhD or equivalent degree in relevant discipline with at least 3 years of post-doctoral research experience , a track record of success in extramural funding, publications, and collaboration with clinicians. Ideal candidates would be those with scientific expertise in areas that are broadly applicable to plasma cell malignancies and lymphoid malignancies (e.g., molecular biology, cellular biology, immunology) and for whom placement in a clinical Hematology department would lead to synergy with multiple PI's both within and beyond Hematology. Applicants may be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.

Expectations for successful candidates include establishment of a robust translational research laboratory focused on plasma cell malignancies, engagement with clinicians within the Division and investigators in the Cancer Center to facilitate translational projects, and participation in department-wide research programs, like the myeloma SPORE. These programs include but are not limited to supervising research trainees (undergraduate, professional, graduate, and post-graduate), engagement with department and institutional resources for translational studies and technology commercialization. The successful candidate will engage with the biobank/clinical registry, and departmental research education initiatives. They will be expected to participate in the division's research committee and must demonstrate commitment to an inclusive and collaborative culture and values-driven leadership.
