About the Role: We are looking for a Facilities Electrical Engineering Technician to join our Enterprise Facility Services (EFS) Team in Elkton, Maryland and Newark, Delaware. In this role, you will be responsible for electrical troubleshooting, repairs, installation and maintenance on all types of facility’s-oriented equipment. The EFS Team is seeking a skilled, self-motivated, service-oriented individual to provide electrical support for our team, equipment, and internal customers we serve.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, installation, startup, validation and troubleshooting of the electrical control systems for facility-oriented equipment.
  • Architect, write, and debug PLC ladder logic and graphical interface software (HMI) with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented and maintainable
  • Apply formal problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot, determine root cause, develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans
  • Be responsible for testing and validating equipment setpoint changes and modifications, while ensuring change management procedures are followed
  • Create and update documentation and procedures
  • Able to understand and apply OSHA, NEC, NFPA, UL508A codes
  • Interface with vendors and service providers to complete required work
  • Design team member supporting equipment reviews and providing feedback to ensure design is meeting all applicable codes, specifications and internal customer requirements
  • Interface with facility engineers, at a conceptual level, to implement designs, modifications and other task required to maintain efficient equipment operation
  • Identify and lead opportunities to continuously improve our equipment and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 year Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology OR equivalent degree from an ABET accredited school AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience programming PLCs, Controllers and variable speed motor drives
  • Experience with process instrumentation configuration, installation and troubleshooting
  • Experience reading, working from, reviewing and updating electrical drawings and schematics
  • Demonstrated experience working independently as well as with cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of critical thinking, active learning and problem solving with the ability to navigate technical and project uncertainties
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing via email, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to effectively manage and document equipment validations
  • Ability to effectively organize, set priorities, and adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to travel up to 5% based on project needs

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with local and wide area networks, protocol converters and switches/routers as used in an industrial environment
  • Hands-on experience working with facility-oriented equipment (Chillers, AHUs, Compressors, Etc.)
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming software, Wonderware HMI development and Autocad design software
