Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a compassionate and experienced Heart Failure Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing Heart Failure clinic. Cape Fear Heart Associates is expanding their services to include a brand new LVAD clinic and requires an experienced LVAD APP to over-see day-to-day clinic operations under supervision of the Heart Failure Program Manager. This position will be instrumental in developing a new LVAD program aligned with regulatory requirements and Novant Health principles: human-centered, access for all, world class care and purposeful innovation. We are recruiting an experienced provider who is committed to advancing the health and vitality for all Heart Failure patients in our region with specific focus on the advanced Heart Failure population. The ideal candidate will develop personalized relationships with our Heart Failure patients, navigate patients through clinical course by managing medical care and collaborating in transitional care planning, and demonstrate leadership to conduct PI/QI projects to improve outcomes and maintain all regulatory requirements. The Ideal candidate with have a minimum of three years direct patient care (APP) with LVAD patients. Skills should include device interrogation, hemodynamic evaluation, LVAD equipment manipulation, driveline site assessments and dressing changes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required.
• Experience: 3-5 years of APP experience with LVAD patients required. Experience with Device interrogation, hemodynamic evaluation, LVAD equipment manipulation (battery/controller changes), driveline site assessments and dressing changes preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, BLS, DEA registry required.
• Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
