Job Description:
Design electronics for expeditionary systems.

Job Details:
Responsibilities

Design, develop and test expeditionary vehicle, sensor, navigation and propulsion systems for underwater applications.

Develop printed circuit boards for system power, communication, and processing components. Development activities will include schematic, layout, fabrication and troubleshooting.

Support development of system concepts and enhancements for expeditionary systems.

Support field and operational testing of expeditionary systems.

Conduct analysis for the evaluation, fielding, and operational employment of expeditionary systems.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar technical degree.

Three years of experience in a technical work environment.

Experience in designing digital and analog electronics hardware for battery-powered applications.

Applicant must have experience in developing printed circuit boards to include developing schematics, supporting layouts, supporting production, and troubleshooting boards.

Applicant must have demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills.

Applicant must have demonstrated strong writing and presentation skills.

Applicant must be proficient in use of computer systems.

Applicant must be mechanically inclined, skilled in the use of basic tools, and have basic electrical skills.

Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in in in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar technical field.

Experience in the design of unmanned systems.

Experience developing electronics for unmanned vehicles.

Experience and/or detailed knowledge of SCUBA diving principles and considerations for diving equipment.

Experience developing sonar systems. Experience in systems engineering.

Experience acting as a technical lead or in project management.

Understanding of software engineering processes and standards.

Experience in field testing or acting as a test director.

Experience with top-down design of systems.

Experience in circuit board design, production, debugging and testing.

Understanding of hardware engineering processes and standards.

Demonstrated knowledge in as many as possible of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, XML, Qt, .NET, version control systems, defect tracking systems, unit testing, real-time and concurrent systems, and web services.

Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: acoustics, signal processing, detection theory, pattern recognition and classification or image processing.

Experience developing software in Linux or in an embedded environment.

Recent or immediate eligibility for access to classified information.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Salary Range

$88,000-$130,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
