Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Event Planner II based in our Irvine, CA* office. The Event Planner II will work on the Regional Events team and will report to the Events Manager. The Event Planner is responsible for performing a wide variety of functions related to the implementation of company events for In-N-Out Burger.

  • This position is full-time, in-office only.

General Responsibilities
  • Work on the Regional Events team, which plans employee events such as: Company picnics, sporting tournaments, store incentive parties, Christmas party for kids, and other corporate events
  • Plan and execute all aspects of social and sporting events for In-N-Out Burger associates, such as researching locations, negotiating contracts, selecting and coordinating vendors
  • Events are planned in all the regions where INO operates: California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Colorado
  • Help plan employee events and employee engagement events; Drive company culture; Focus on the employee experience
  • Assist with on-going communication with operations personnel regarding event date, location, and other logistics
  • Create and manage communications for event attendees
  • Proven negotiation skills and diplomacy with vendors to meet company objectives
  • Work on a project from inception through completion
  • Create process improvements for event planning efficiencies
  • Help with onsite and “day-of-event” activities and operations
  • Assist and support the Travel Events Department as necessary

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 20% of the work time will be spent in the field and will require overnight and weekend travel to the states where In-N-Out Burger operates

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel management, marketing, business, public relations, or relevant field is preferred, but not required; Significant work experience can substitute for a degree
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience as an active event planner, with hands-on experience in all facets of event planning; corporate event planning experience preferred
  • Impressive portfolio of previously managed events, such as: Corporate events, large scale productions, sports competitions, festivals, production events
  • Experience planning sporting tournaments, competitions, or sporting events a plus
  • Certificate in Meeting Event Management preferred, but not required
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional on-site event operation skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions with minimal oversight
  • Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills; communication with all levels of management
  • Ability to work autonomously/independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word and Excel
  • Online registration, attendee registration, and project management systems experience a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events
