Job Description

The Optum Enterprise Epic Services analysts will support our new Nashville, TN office to establish and grow our emerging support service line. Analysts will serve as a liaison between end-users, project team members and other Information Management resources while providing exemplary customer service and Epic application support in their assigned Epic module(s). OEES team members will help position Optum as a center of excellence for application management services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex operational and project-related reports including analysis, design, documentation, versioning development, configuration, testing, implementation and ongoing support for Epic Clarity-based reporting, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards and Extract Framework
  • Receive and document formal requests from customer including specifications (layout, calculations, data source
  • Evaluate requests for completeness and if needed works with customer to finalize request
  • Recommend changes to established guidelines, standards and methodologies as appropriate
  • Assist with Epic upgrades / updates by serving as a subject matter expert for the Epic Clarity data models, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards and Extract Framework
  • Implement reports/database software in an optimal manner to minimize the effect on production and development activities
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with reports, including reviewing scripts and database issues.
  • Maintain data integrity and the ongoing quality control of delivered reports
  • Prepare report management documentation to manage reports library, track project progress and reports problems in a timely fashion
  • Provide documentation and training to transfer knowledge
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Develop relationships with end user communities, customers and business partners
  • Attend, participate in, and contribute to meetings throughout the facility
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to analyze trends and provide solutions to areas of opportunity
  • May create new reports, using third party report writing tools to display Clarity data

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Epic system experience
  • 3+years of experience designing, creating, testing and implementing complex reports using Crystal Reports and/or Business Objects Enterprise reporting tools
  • Current Epic certification(s) with at least one Clarity Data Model certification
  • Experience using SQL query techniques and stored procedures to access relational databases with the ability to write efficient queries
  • Reporting tool experience or certifications (Crystal, Business Objects, SQL, SSIS, Red Wagon, Oracle, Microsoft, SAS, Cognos)
  • Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure
  • Proficient/Certified/Experienced writing custom reports for at least one Epic application; Willow, IP, Ambulatory, Resolute Professional Billing, Resolute Hospital Billing, Tapestry, ASAP or HIM
  • Experience using Epic Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboard, Extract Framework and Clarity

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
