Job Description

Ramboll is seeking candidates for a Senior Consultant position primarily supporting our global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Due Diligence Practice and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Services. This position is located in our Dallas, Texas office. The successful candidate will conduct and review Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs) and compliance reviews of complex industrial facilities and/or facilities with long industrial histories, and assist clients with post-transaction integration. Experience in site investigations and remediation a plus, but not required.

You will join our Environment and Health department

As our new Mid-Level Environmental Consultant, you will be part of our interdisciplinary Dallas, TX team. You will work with all levels of expertise from junior level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their fields. Consultants and Managers are part of a continual learning environment where they learn through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job tasks. The duties of the position include:

  • Conduct environmental assessments of a broad range of industrial and commercial companies for high-profile merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. Assessments include a review of industrial operations and historic site activities to determine potential environmental regulatory (e.g., air permitting, wastewater, storm water, hazardous waste), site contamination, waste disposal, and product liabilities, among others.
  • Assist with evaluating the business risks associated with known and potential environmental liabilities and with developing scopes of work for follow-on site investigations.
  • Assist in evaluating environmental compliance and permitting requirements with respect to solid and hazardous waste management and reporting, air emissions, wastewater and storm water discharges, and chemical/oil spill prevention.
  • Prepare technical reports that effectively communicate review findings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum B.S. degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, environmental, chemical) or B.S./B.A. in a relevant science discipline (environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, or biology). Advanced degree desirable, but not required.
  • Qualification as an Environmental Professional as defined by the ASTM E1527-13 Standard is desired;
  • A demonstrated ability to perform Phase I ESAs and limited environmental compliance reviews of complex industrial sites;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to travel periodically on short business trips. Travel is typically of short duration (1-2 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
  • The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on some occasions.
