We are looking for an entry level structural engineer that is interested in developing their own skills designing and detailing bridges and other infrastructure projects throughout multiple states in the Midwest. As a structural engineer with EMCS you will perform structural analysis and plan preparation for bridges and transportation related structures for urban and rural projects throughout Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.
Responsibilities include:

• Complete the design calculations and plan preparation for both new bridge, bridge rehabilitation, and retaining wall projects in alignment with applicable design standards and specifications.
• Perform in person site visits and inspections of existing bridges and culverts and prepare and submit required reports.
• Complete concept development and perform bridge sizing of proposed structures.
• Complete quantity computations, cost estimates, and special provisions required for structures projects.
• Complete bridge load ratings.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 0-2 years of prior civil/structural experience (including internship experience) working within a professional civil engineering design firm
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Knowledge of MicroStation/AutoCAD and specialized bridge design software
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Excellent communication skills
• EIT registration a plus
• Valid driver’s license
