Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer for employment in the Orange, CA and or San Diego, CA office.

_This position is expected to begin in January 2021._

About DCSA—Environment

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM’s global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals – to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Support engineering design teams for soil and groundwater remediation projects. Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

+ Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team members.

+ Work with senior civil engineers to compile data and prepare design solutions.

+ Drafting and CADD Design and plan preparation.

+ Assist with design calculations.

+ Performs routine tasks while working under close supervision.

+ Both office work (design, task management, data analysis, and report preparation) and fieldwork.

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.

+ Valid U.S. Driver's License.

+ U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

+ 0-2 years of experience in an environmental or engineering consulting company.

+ OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and Supervisor certification or ability to obtain.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).

+ Must be willing to travel to various job sites; approximately 50-70% travel.

+ OSHA 30-hour Construction Supervisor certification.

+ Engineer in Training Professional Registration.

+ Participation in Professional Organization(s).

+ Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.

+ Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.

+ Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 – 2 hrs drive of home office, and occasionally further.

+ Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.

+ Strong numerical skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal skills.

+ Strong quality and time management.

+ Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.

+ Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
