Job Description

Stoel Rives has an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Application Systems Administrator. As part of the Network Operations Team, this role is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, documenting and maintaining enterprise applications, including upgrades and assessing new technology for the firm. This position is responsible for assuring the systems are responsibly maintained and updated. The position must be able to work collectively as a member and as a team lead of large project teams.

Specific job duties:

  • Administer and maintain enterprise application servers for the technologies listed below:
    • SharePoint
    • Document Management System
    • Contract Resource Management System
    • Financial Systems
    • Human Resource Systems
    • Payroll Systems
    • Recordkeeping systems
    • Docketing systems
  • Work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure configuration, deployment, maintenance and testing procedures
  • Establish priorities and meet deadlines taking direction from the Network Operations Manager
  • Follow Change Management Control processes
  • Provide systems analysis techniques and procedures for involved and complicated technical applications, including discussions with users, to determine software or system functional specifications and support services for firm systems.
  • Integrate custom applications, web parts (widgets) and workflows for the firm's Intranet/Extranet using MS SharePoint/ASP.NET. Work with the firm’s web site hosting facility to further develop the Internet site
  • Maintain internal custom applications as needed; responsible for full life-cycle management of these applications
  • Customize vendor applications as needed
  • Write SQL Scripts to assist the Applications group as needed
  • Create and maintain documentation. Work with vendors when necessary to troubleshoot issues and create customized solutions
  • Use IT ticket management and change management systems per Firm procedures; expediently respond to and resolve incident ticket escalations for areas covered by this position

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • Experience maintaining enterprise-level applications and servers (DMS, intranet/extranet applications, FMS, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Windows OS, Active Directory, Group Policies and SQL 2016/2017/2019
  • Experience administering SQL databases including understanding database structures and querying, maintenance operations, creating and maintaining stored procedures, and troubleshooting
  • Experience troubleshooting in an enterprise environment
  • Experience documenting trouble tickets, knowledgebase articles and writing formal documentation
  • Experience developing and maintaining lightweight custom applications
  • Capable of learning large, complex applications in a short time frame
  • Project management experience and knowledge
  • Strong TSQL, VB, VBScript, JavaScript, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#.Net, VBA, 4GL, XML, XPATH, XSLT skills required, as well as an ability to use/adapt to potential new platforms.
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors to identify and troubleshoot issues and implement firm-wide solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, SQL Server, System Center and IIS
  • Familiarity with the administration and maintenance of the server-side components is required
  • Work including nights and weekends if necessary
  • This position will have direct contact with end-users and application owners. Excellent customer service skills and communication skills are essential.
  • Support of the department’s strategic objectives and team norms with internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors is required.
