To lead HPE into this future, the Element Platform Workload Engineering team is looking for an experienced technical manager to join and lead our team.

The Element Platform organization is responsible for delivering the building blocks and solutions that provide the basis for HPE as-a-Service offerings. Within this organization you will lead a solutions engineering team as they develop cutting edge solutions. Your team will be multi-disciplinary and responsible for design, architecture, implementation, performance and validation testing. Along with leading the team, you will have responsibility for providing technical and program leadership, driving architecture direction for the team, and coordinating with global engineering and product teams.

In a typical day as a Engineering Manager- Workload Solutions, you would.
  • Provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing solutions in the MLOPS and HPC space. This includes architecture and design leadership, development of lab POCs, performance validation testing, customer Co-Development and trial support, and other customer driven engagements.
  • Solution engineering responsibilities for delivering Ezmeral Container Platform ISV solutions in the Analytics and AI space
  • Technical architectural leadership and subject matter understanding/awareness to enable team mentoring and onboarding
  • Active coordination and alignment across local and global engineering teams.
  • Team onboarding and active hiring/mentoring
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicate project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Provide people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensure that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

About you.

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of work experience as a solutions engineer or solution architect, preferably in the database and/or analytics space.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of experience with direct people management.
  • You'll have strong technical and people leadership skills, must be able to dive in technical details, understand and resolve team’s impediments
  • You’ll have at least 3 years of management experience (management of distributed teams, hiring and retaining top talent)
  • You'll have experience working in an Agile environment and with Agile tools and best practices.
  • You'll have experience across a range of technology areas including container technologies (e.g. Kubernetes), development languages (Python, R or other development languages), and infrastructure platforms
  • You’ll have the ability to lead with empathy, build and foster a high-performance engineering culture, mentor team members and provide your team with the tools and motivation to make things happen
  • You'll have experienced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Experience in HPE infrastructure and solutions is a plus
  • Hands-on technical background in key technology areas (AI/ML, High-performance computing, Analytics) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and departments to deliver solutions.
