Job Details:

We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Manager to join the Trimble Cloud platform team. Trimble Cloud Platform team builds core platform services such as data storage, authentication, authorization, and data processing that are used by Trimble and Trimble partners in the Buildings, Construction, Transportation, Agriculture, and Geospatial industries. Our cloud services allow Trimble businesses to efficiently build applications and connect content throughout its lifecycle.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team developing the orchestration service for Trimble cloud platform. You will have the opportunity to build a centralized processing and orchestration service , to enable connected workflows across Trimble products. The service will also play a central role in the Trimble Enterprise Data Pipeline and Connect and Scale strategy. We are looking for someone that enjoys a balance of deep technical work and management tasks, and has very high standards for product quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor one engineering team, make them productive, keep them stay focused and motivated while delivering on the execution plans

  • Work closely with architects, product managers and the team and implement various capabilities and data products.

  • Work closely with various other engineering teams to roll out new integrations.

  • Present platform architecture, roadmap, plans, status, and risk to various stakeholders including higher management.

  • Take ownership of the service by enabling 24X7 support.

  • Be responsible for cloud cost and improving efficiency.

Skills and Experience

  • A passion for managing data and connecting systems

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering required

  • Some experience in engineering management is desirable

  • Experience with software architecture design and strong background in tuning application/architecture performance and hardening application security

  • Demonstrable proficiency with different Cloud providers such as Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as S3, EC2, Containers

  • Experience with WebServices, REST API development, Python and SQL, NoSQL databases

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
