SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Engineer II, Corporate IT is responsible for supporting internal and remote users. Responsibilities include installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting of hardware and software, maintaining inventory of company assets, account management through Active Directory, Office 365 and other administrative portals as well as handling all physical moves of employees’ workstations.
The Engineer II, Corporate IT is responsible for executing assigned tasks per team leads and management while also conducting process and procedure review for Engineer I team members. Additionally, they must manage tasks and updates via GlobalTranz tools (I.e. Zendesk, Jira, etc)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide troubleshooting for hardware and software issues utilizing a service desk ticketing system with additional communication happening via email, IM/chat, in-person and phone calls
  • Assessing and troubleshooting issues on hardware/software, matching incidents against known problems and errors, then providing a solution or workaround to customers
  • Escalating incidents appropriately as needed when a solution is not easily solvable
  • Properly documenting incidents in the ticketing system and updating support tools appropriately
  • Build and prepare desktop and laptop PC’s using company standard development tools and processes
  • Aid security team in maintaining and implementing security initiatives
  • Create and manage user accounts in Active Directory, Office 365 and other online admin consoles
  • Provide troubleshooting and maintenance for VoIP phones, printers, scanners, and mobile devices
  • Provide phone and screen share support to remote employees and outside sales agents
  • Assist with documenting and maintaining SOPs, as necessary
  • Assist on departmental and business wide technology projects when needed
  • Support teams via guidance and training
  • Perform physical moves of user equipment when needed
  • Mentor Engineer I staff to build expertise in technology, people, processes and industry
  • Complete interview training and participate in interviews
  • Show involvement in the corporate initiatives

  • Contribute to the continued maturation of processes
  • Demonstrate mastery of company-provided systems and the ability to assist others in their use

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the transportation/logistics industry
  • Spend at least 4 hours each quarter between operations, carrier sales, finance, and IR staff reviewing processes and procedures
  • Show expertise and the ability to assist others in the understanding of GlobalTranz offerings and their purpose
  • Possible afterhours and weekend work, depending on projects, maintenance windows and business need
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate degree or higher required
  • At least 2-5 years of Computer Science experience required

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some movement is required. This would require the ability to lift computer hardware, climb under desks, reach over one’s head for items in storage room and standing as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected depending on projects, trainings, and other occurrences (5%).
