EMT/COVID-19 Screener

The EMT/Covid-19 Screener is a medical role specifically operating within the protocols established for testing/screening humans for possible infection utilizing individual questionnaires, a brief nasal/nasopharyngeal swab exam consisting of a tympanic, infrared (IR) and/or oral temperature, and may include the administration of an objective test including the acquisition of samples including but not limited to, nasal sample and saliva samples.
Additionally, strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements will be followed by the company, and is expected of the person fulfilling this position.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Administering medical questionnaires directly to school attendees and staff
• Test personnel entering school campus/job sites
• Test personnel departing school campus/job sites
• Administering and interpreting the temperature of an individual utilizing tympanic, infrared (IR) and/or oral thermometers according to manufacturer’s instructions and CDC guidance for personal protection
• Reporting cases of positive and negative responses according to established protocols while remaining cognizant of appropriate reporting requirements (State, Local and Federal) requirements (established per site)
• Disseminating relevant client policies and info given to us and as directed by client
• Being a general resource to client and employees
• Acquire samples of potentially infectious nasal swabs and/or saliva samples from individuals after obtaining consent for testing.
• Comply with laws and regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy of information collected
• Wear and remove/dispose PPE as required within the protocol for performing medical testing and screening

Qualifications

• Possession of a current EMT-B license and up-to-date BLS/CPR certification
• Experience with Sling is a plus
• Ability to communicate quickly and effectively
• Ability to learn quickly and be resourceful while solving problems
• Strong computer/tech skills
• Reliable transportation (travel between testing locations may be required)
