POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Nursing Unit, the staff nurse plans, implements, and evaluates and documents nursing care for patients.
Performs complete, accurate nursing assessments on patients admitted into the Emergency Center
Plans and provides comprehensive nursing care during an assigned shift
Maintains current professional nursing knowledge and skills
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
Located in Central Austin, St. David’s Medical Center includes a 426-bed acute care hospital and a 64-bed rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. It is home to the internationally renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David’s Neuroscience & Spine Institute. Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Staff RN required
2+ years of nursing experience in a critical care unit and/or emergency department preferred
Current Texas Registered Nursing license required. If Compact State License, a Texas license is required within 90 days of hire.
Current BCLS certification required
Current ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment
CEN preferred
