About You
Youre a mentally agile and experienced leader with a keen eye for detail. You enjoy problem solving in the moment, and your colleagues count on you to come up with innovative and practical solutions under pressure. You have 8 plus years of experience responding to hazardous waste emergencies and are confident in your ability to train teams who respond to rail, truck, and other emergencies involving the removal of hazardous materials.
Position Snapshot
As one of our Emergency Response Managers, you would plan and direct emergency response services on a local, regional and national level. You would develop programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and ensure a safe working environment. You would also coordinate resources and activities of personnel engaged in performing emergency response services for quality control of processes and regulatory compliance.
Day in the Life
While no two days are the same, you can typically expect to:
Supervise the response to facilities affected by natural disasters
Respond with your team to facility, roadway, and railroad incidents
Lead emergency response training
Provide reports to management and government agencies
Manage a fleet of vehicles and equipment
Develop and maintain relationships with customers
Participate in budget development and manages operating and capital expenditure budgets and reports
What you need to apply
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, a related field, or equivalent experience.
Waste management experience preferred.
Moderate computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office Suite)
At least 8 years of emergency management experience in the environmental sector
Experience with Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) and other applicable local, state, and federal regulatory bodies
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
