As a part of our growth LKQ is looking for a skilled electronics assembly technician to service our Pittsboro, NC Warehouse. If you working with your hands, and working with happy, enthusiastic individuals, you'll enjoy a career with us!


Job Summary:


Full time, 40 hours per week, with start and end times vary. Normal work hours are 7-3:30 pm with no weekends but may be required to work more. Some weekends may be required during peak season.

Working with specific detailed instructions, process disassembly, and electrical analysis of Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) batteries

  • Following detailed procedures, assist is HEV battery testing and discharging/charging
  • Maintain meticulous records of testing results of HEV Battery discharge/charge processes
  • Under the direction of senior personnel, use electronic diagnostic and testing equipment to analyze battery characteristics and analyze trends
  • Production of small scale electronic parts and cards with integrated circuits and soldering/desoldering same
  • Lifting heavy material repeatedly throughout the day
  • Stacking and organizing product
  • Understanding of basic computer applications and systems
  • Routine activities in support of charging/discharging Hybrid Vehicle batteries
  • Maintaining general cleanliness and safety of the production facility
  • Working in full compliance with federal, state, and local law in regards to HAZMAT and heavy equipment operation
  • Other tasks may be assigned as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Competent in following all Standard Work Instructions and can read specifications and verify pictures from the computer program.

  • Previous electrical knowledge preferred
  • Previous vehicle mechanic knowledge preferred
  • Previous experience with machinist, carpenter, or prototype work is helpful for this position
  • Previous experience with soldering and desoldering
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted and 80 lbs assisted several times throughout the day
  • Are felony and misdemeanor conviction-free

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment: Lifting 5-50 pounds using proper lifting techniques or equipment, bending, and twisting. Standing for an entire shift. Loud work environment. Personal Protective Equipment is required at all times including Safety Glasses, Steel-toed boots, and Hearing Protection. Painting requires additional respiratory fit testing and a respiratory mask worn at all times.


Preferred Qualifications: Battery Assembly, Remanufacturing, and battery Testing/Quality Experience.
