Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking an Industrial Electrician Helper for our operation located in Louisville, KY. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance, installation and repair of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment)
  • Assist with troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participate in safety and environmental activities, and always use plant equipment correctly/ safely
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business needs
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • One-year experience with electrical work, OR
  • A technical certification or equivalent in an electrical field
  • Basic experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
  • Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of job offer with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VFDs
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems
  • Experience working with low and medium voltages
  • Experience with AC and/or DC controls
  • Experience with instrumentation devices
