Job Description – Electrical Assembly Technician

Business Unit: Wilson Fluid Power Systems

Department: Electrical Panel/Assembly Technician

FLSA: Non Exempt

Reports To: Production Manager

Assembly Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical enclosure control panels, fittings, tubing, hoses and other products by following drawings and instructions.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawings, and parts lists.
  • Inspects, adjusts, repairs, and tests products as necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Gathers and positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and/or notifying General Manager to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs when required.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Additional duties include some warehouse shipping and receiving duties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Ability stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to drive company vehicle when necessary and a valid driver’s license is required
  • Experience and ability using computer programs preferred

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
