JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION:
Transportation Specialist (Driver)
SUPERVISED BY:
Transportation Supervisor / Director of Transportation
POSITION/INDIVIDUALS SUPERVISED:

POSITION PURPOSE:
A Transportation Specialist is responsible for the transportation, care, and wellbeing of the program participants while they are be driven/discharged to/from treatment for any of Zinnia Health’s subsidiaries
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
1. EDUCATION:
Graduation from High School or GED (2 years of experience as a BHT/Transport may take the place)
2. EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position or similar function
3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Maintains a current CPR certification
4. KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING
Knowledge of substance abuse treatment options
5. AGE SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS SERVED/ RESPONSIBILITY:
Adults
6. EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION:
Exempt/Non-Exempt
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
1. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Position requires work in a temperature-controlled environment (automobile/facilities); 75%-85% of the time spent inside a vehicle or facilities

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
- Drive new program participants to facility of admission and discharge program participants to their next level of care, another facility, airport, or personal residence
- Builds and maintains rapport with all program participants, adding to and enhancing the treatment experience
- Oversees the safety of program participants during transport
- Instructs and confirms the company’s rules and regulations to the program participant
- Familiarizes new program participants to the organization and the program
- Attends regular meetings for inter- and intra-departmental sharing of information
- Builds positive relationships with staff members across multiple departments
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment
- Always follows Infection Control Guidelines, while in a vehicle or at the facility
- Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Nurse
- Completes and forwards copies of Incident/Accident reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the Transportation Supervisor/Director of Operations/Transportation Director
- Provides a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and program participants
- Follows the daily schedule for transports communicated by the Transportation Supervisor
- Documents and reports findings/observations as required
- Conducts waived tests as required: I.E. Urine Drug Screen and Dip Sticks
- Reports and helps manage the regular maintenance and repairs of all company vehicles
- Regularly cleans out and washes company vehicles to maintain the vehicles appearance
- Other duties as assigned
- Weekdays and Weekend Shifts available
- Day and Evening Shifts available
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
