Docketing Clerk (Hybrid)

Position Summary

The Docketing Clerk will implement and oversee firm-wide calendaring procedures, and supports litigation calendaring. This person works with firm attorneys and management in formulating and implanting policies, procedures and practices to fulfill calendar functions, determines docket/calendar dates from court documents and correspondence and enters data into docket calendar system.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Determines docket dates from court documents and correspondence and ensures appropriate entry of data in the docket.
  • Ensures daily preparation and distribution of reports from the docketing system including weekly attorney deadlines reports and other case specific reports as needed.
  • Responds to requests related to litigation scheduling, court rules, etc., from attorneys.
  • Resolve docket discrepancies.
  • File court documents electronically and conventionally.
  • Maintain an accurate docket database and provide reports as requested or required.
  • Scan client and legal documents to the firm's electronic document management systems.
  • Responsible for opening new matters, including conflict requirements under the firm's policies.
  • Maintain positive contact with attorneys, staff and clients and observe confidentiality of the docket and firm's clients.
  • Maintain and distribute an electronic global docket calendar as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of docketing or similar litigation calendar experience.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local court rules and systems.
  • Familiarity with agency rules, policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of CompuLaw Docketing System or comparable docketing system.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Superior knowledge of the firm’s goals and objectives.
