Our San Diego office is seeking a Distribution Engineer to work directly with our clients/vendors and field personnel revising overhead and underground distribution standards, assessing technical data on new products and working with testing labs and research facilities. Responsibilities
- Update existing and create new construction standards
- Review and recommend changes to Safety standards
- Electrical technical analysis to support new product selections
- Analyze failed materials and products - root cause, prevention and improvement
- Determine cost alternatives to meet GO95 or NESC requirements
- Develop scope of work for clients that accomplish their needs technically and financially
- Update clients on progress of technical work and any changes to schedules
- Meet with clients periodically, travel to job sites and work directly with field personnel, testing labs and research facilities
- Assist in development of new clients
Qualifications/Education/Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical) from an accredited ABET university/college or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (Electrical) with relevant experience is required; Power engineering discipline is preferred
- 0 – 3+ years of experience with electric utility overhead, underground equipment and installation techniques is preferred
- Distribution overhead line design and construction experience is preferred
- Strong organizational and project coordination abilities are required
- Creative problem solving and relationship building skills are required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
