Overview: About the Role:
A field-based leadership role with a unique opportunity to lead a team of 10 ‘Patient Access Leads’ and deliver upon an industry leading patient experience for patients battling serious and rare diseases.
The Director, Patient Access will leverage his/her reimbursement expertise and demonstrated leadership experience to lead the field-based Patient Access Lead team in identifying, understanding, and addressing reimbursement challenges impacting patients’ access to Insmed’s products as prescribed by the HCP.
The Director, Patient Access will be a member of the Patient Support Services Leadership team, and will report to Senior Director, Patient Access. A key component of this role is to establish collaborative relationship with Field Sales, Marketing, Channel Management, Market Access, Analytics, and Compliance colleagues to support patient access.

Lead a productive and efficient Patient Access Lead team.
Responsibilities: Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Maintain a strong vision and clear objectives for the field-based Patient Access Leads
  • Collaborate with Field Sales, Market Access, and Patient Support Services leadership to proactively identify, prioritize and address patient access bottlenecks
  • Lead a productive and efficient Patient Access Lead team
  • Provide strategic direction to Patient Access Leads, and ensure their daily activities are compliantly aligned with patient access priorities within their assigned regions
  • Serve as reimbursement expert and coach for Patient Access Leads, and ensure team maintains an up-to-date repository of plan-specific reimbursement criteria, forms, and submission procedures
  • Communicate regularly with cross-functional leadership on Patient Access team’s focus and metrics
  • Ensure compliance with Insmed’s reimbursement support policy and rules of engagement

Qualifications: About You:

  • 10+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with 5+ years in coverage & reimbursement related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred·
  • 4+ years management experience demonstrating ability to build and sustain compliant, high performing teams
  • Experience leading a field-based reimbursement team preferred
  • Specialty product launch experience
  • Orphan disease experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of prescription drug coverage/benefit design, and reimbursement process
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic planning and tactical plan development and execution
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; multi-lingual experience a plus
