What you’ll be doing

Clarity is looking for an experienced, results-oriented Director of Strategic Analysis to join the leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of Analytics & Product. In this key role, you will serve as a hands-on manager of a team of analysts that is instrumental in providing analytical results and insights to drive product innovation, produce content for industry webinars and events, and develop pooled data risk management solutions specifically for Clarity’s core market. This position will interact heavily with all functional teams including Analytical Consulting, Product, Technology, and Sales and will require a passion for Clarity’s business.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

Lead and manage Strategic Analytics Team responsible for:

Generate analytical insights and results that drive product innovation in Clarity’s core market (AFS Lending)

Collaborate with Product Team to transform analytical results into new and enhanced products

Produce analytical results and insights for thought leadership; create content for industry and client presentations and webinars including Annual Trends Report

Serve as key presenter of analytical results and findings at client and industry events

Develop, validate, test and document new and existing generic (pooled data) scorecards, product best practices and other analytical solutions

Collaborate with Analytical Consulting Team and Sales to ensure strategic analytical projects are prioritized in alignment with company goals

Collaborate with IT to enhance analytics data environment and drive process automation

Conduct research to respond to inquiries about Clarity raw data, data attributes and predictive models from clients and internal Clarity teams

Collaborate with Data Management team to enhance data quality

Serve on Experian Model Governance Committee

Provide support & perform special projects as directed by Head of Analytics & Products

What your background looks like

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Advanced degree in statistics, applied math or other quantitative discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in managing teams of analysts with demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and support junior analysts
  • Outstanding analytic skills with the ability to draw concise insights from large datasets
  • Knowledge of consumer lender and risk management
  • Significant experience conducting analysis using traditional and/or alternative credit data
  • Programming skills in SAS, R and/or Python
  • Experience with BI/Visualization tools
  • Familiarity with machine learning and/or other advanced data modeling tools
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear objectives, acceptance criteria and timelines
