GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Psychology Services is responsible for the integrity of the quality of psychological services and active treatment for patients at the Wyoming State Hospital.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
  • Direct the work and supervision of psychology and chaplain services.
  • Supervision of psychologists providing services, quantity, and quality of services provided and therapy assignments and monitoring of professional staff in delivering services.
  • Provide direct clinical care services to the patient population at the hospital.
  • Provide licensure supervision and intern supervision to clinical psychologists or other appropriate disciplines.
  • Provides consultation on all complicated clinical cases and will assist in developing treatment and behavior plans and monitoring such plans.
  • Conduct clinical peer review and participate in performance improvement activities, including evaluating the effectiveness of treatment tools in use.
  • Maintain an active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications


PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Preferences will be given to individuals with 10 years' experience as a Psychologist.
Preferences will be given to individuals with five years of providing clinical and administrative supervision of Psychology staff.
Preferences will be given to individuals with five years of experience as a member of Executive Management in a Leadership role.

**Doctorate of Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.)
**Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Wyoming

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of national accreditation standards.
  • Knowledge of Centers for Medicaid and Medicare regulations and interpretive guidelines.
  • Knowledge of state and local standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health Division standards relative to mental health.
  • Knowledge of procedures for the Interstate Compact Agreement to move patients to and from Wyoming.
  • Knowledge of Performance Improvement principles and requirements.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles.
  • Knowledge of Protection and Advocacy legislation and practice.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric assessments, treatment, and discharge protocols.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices.
  • Knowledge of mental health center boards' rules and practices.
  • Knowledge of Supreme Court decisions regarding treatment provision.
  • Knowledge of best practice guidelines.
  • Knowledge of privileging and licensure processes.
  • Knowledge of psychotherapy and clinical practices.

NOTES:
  • FLSA: Exempt
  • At-Will position
  • A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
  • A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
