Job Description

The Director of Product Management will collaborate with a broad group of internal and external stakeholders to define key opportunities and strategies to provide best in class search and recommendation experiences on Coupons.com and our partner retailer websites and apps. You will directly interact with internal and external retail partners to assess customer needs, drive a vision, and ensure products meet the market’s needs.

You will provide key product vision and insights for complex algorithms and experiences by:

  • Defining 1 – 3 year roadmap
  • Setting ambitious OKRs that drive strategic value
  • Ensure data capture and measurement
  • Develop testing, treatment, and analysis plans
  • Partner to create external facing marketing and go-to market materials

The role will be hands on with engineering to define, test, and evaluate new algorithms and models, business rules and methods for delivering excellent recommendations and search experiences across omni-channel products. This person will pursue excellence and have deep domain knowledge to directly collaborate with technical and data science team members in this pursuit. They will also possess the savvy to distill the technical into digestible communications for business stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create innovation roadmap for recommendation and search experiences and evangelize to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide client facing expertise supporting sales, marketing and professional services as an approachable and personable SME.
  • Provide quantitative direction to that illustrates value-assement and measurement of algorithm performance.
  • Conduct user research and studies to develop algorithmic and machine learning ways of delighting users and providing a unique savings experience.
  • Manage and refine long-term product strategy, product plans and use cases
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers
  • Establish business goals with measurable success criteria early in the product life cycle, stay consistent with those goals, and adapt to change as required
  • Evaluate new organic and non-organic product opportunities, including revenue and cost estimates, target markets and fit with current product offering
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute


Position Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of Product Management experience and BA/BS required. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Experience in AB testing, machine learning particularly recommender systems, and analytics.
  • A strong analytical and mathematical background, preferably with an understanding of statistics, observational and experiment-based studies, and either Python or R.
  • Candidate must have strong initiative, high energy, and impeccable integrity.
  • Strong desire to lead and collaborate with cross functional teams in order to obtain results
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts and develop clear, concise, synthesized recommendations
  • Ability to gather business requirements, drive thoughtful discussions with relevant stakeholders, seek internal (and if applicable external) alignment, deliver consolidated plan, and follow through
  • Ability to analyze new markets and prepare market entry strategies
