Position SummaryThe Director - MICU is a registered professional nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team. The Nurse Director assumes 24-hour responsibility in directing and coordinating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care for patient in the MICU, rapid response, and code blue teams. The MICU Director integrates a multidisciplinary approach to critical care in partnership with the intensivist service, and other critical care stakeholders. Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required within three (3) years of hire/transfer

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current unrestricted RN license in Nevada
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardical Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Certification within one (1) year of hire/transfer

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management of critical care services for young adult through geriatric patients preferred
  • Proficiency in critical care nursing procedures and skills required
  • Experienced in leadership, management, and establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment required
  • Practical experience dealing with hospital and departmental policies and procedures is required, including comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, continuous quality assurance, Medicare, and JCAHO regulations required
