Job Description

The Center Director responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for meeting quarterly goals, staffing/hours per labor efficiency standards/cost per liter, and key performance indicators goals.
  • Operates the center and manages employees and operations.
  • Manages staff to ensure that training and quality goals are met.
  • Directs and manages employees.
  • Manages headcount to provide for efficient staffing through high and low production intervals.
  • Accountable for the direction of all personnel functions, including hiring, assignment and course of work, development, and training, disciplinary actions and termination, and the maintenance of all personnel records.
  • Provides strategic direction and planning to operations staff.
  • Oversees donor selection, plasma collection and shipment and records completion.
  • Accountable for the adequacy of inventory of all goods and supplies necessary for center operations and oversee ordering goods as needed.
  • Assure center employees maintain the facility in a neat and clean condition and all equipment is kept in good working order.
  • Accountable for freezer management, including overseeing plasma shipments and equipment failures.
  • Required to answer all freezer alarms and deal with them appropriately.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports on a daily/weekly basis or as requested.
  • Accountable for donor selection, plasma collection, and all manufacturing records.
  • Directs through the management team and with Training and Quality staff to ensure that training and quality goals are met.
  • Control center donor funds and center expenses.
  • Identifies regulatory deficiencies and, in collaboration with the Center Quality Manager, implements immediate corrective action.
  • Establishes and maintains the ability to perform all tasks within the center; fulfills the role of production employees when the occasional need arises.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years experience in plasma center, including six months experience as Assistant Manager, or equivalent of Associate degree in Science or Management, with 6 months supervisory experience.

Requirements

In order for an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, they should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Provide a good customer service experience
  • Ability to read and interpret directions and instructions
  • Accurate data entry
  • Perform basic math calculations
  • Reasoning ability to identify, interpret and apply appropriate information

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 3 consecutive weeks per months for the fist 5 to 6 months prior to the Center opening for training.

  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time for up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Noise level are usually moderate. Moderate is described as average.
  • May be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of time.
  • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
