Your day to day

The Director, digital key will lead strategy and execution for digital key and related guest access/convenience initiatives. Collaborate across internal stakeholders to prioritize for maximum delivery efficiency, velocity, and quality; deliver large strategic program on time and on budget. Develop and execute multi-year strategy to close competitive gaps and develop outstanding user experiences across all phases of the digital travel journey. This role will help define and execute all aspects of mobile guest access management.

Lead design and development of world-class guest experience products to drive differentiation for IHG brands, superior experiences for IHG guests, and an industry-leading hotel owner value proposition.

Develop overall owner product strategy to align with the overall goals of IHG and owner value proposition

Develop business case and supporting documents to ensure delivery of high-quality hotel and owner solutions with input from regions.

Conduct strategic analyses relating to regional/functional business issues (market dynamics, business models, emerging growth opportunities, competitor actions, IHG capabilities, IHG economics, industry financial drivers) using analytical frameworks and rigorous financial modeling skills

Establish a 3-5-year strategic roadmap for owner stakeholder group which lays out key innovations, product enhancements, new development, and all planned initiatives on a timeline

Work closely with product delivery to deliver highest value owner growth initiatives by working alongside key internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies that through a combination of thought leadership, project management support, completed analytical detail, and integration with other work streams in the region and global functions

Consult globally with all regions, brands, stakeholders, and regional hotel operators/owners/managers to gather feedback and revenue generation opportunities, which help drive business requirements and product value.

Direct and design innovative ideas and concepts from industry and competitive intelligence as it relates to owner value proposition. Stay abreast of digital and mobile innovations, IHG’s competitors and their technology.

Leverage current information sources of competitor intelligence and industry trends in collaboration with other IHG teams who collect similar data to minimize duplication; fill in the gaps of market and business intelligence when absent elsewhere in the group


What we need from you

Educational Attainment:

Bachelor’s degree (Master preferred) with progressive work experience in Business, Strategy, Finance or Computer Science/MIS/IT or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience


Critical Expertise & Experience:

10+ years of progressive Hotel Operations, Strategy, IT Management or work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in a broad range of technical disciplines, products, and services

Demonstrated experience working with multiple cultures and managing effective relationships with hotels/vendors/Owners across different countries within hospitality or related industry

Strong architectural foundation and systems level knowledge with a demonstrated understanding of digital and mobile applications and systems, Including Property Management Systems, guest- and property facing applications, etc.


  • Experience in engaging cross functional working partnerships in a global organization
  • Agile & design thinking experience
  • Strong influencing/consensus building and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Requires a mix of strong technical leadership skills and a creativity; innovation mindset is essential
