Job Description
Are you passionate about beauty, the consumer and how their journey of discovery & purchase is evolving? Are you interested in taking on a highly collaborative, strategic and visible role for one of the largest categories within CVS Retail? If so, there is a great opportunity to join CVS as a Senior Category Manager (Director) of Cosmetics. In this role, you'll lead one of CVS’ largest and most dynamic categories in the Front Store, with the scale to influence the overall mass Beauty industry as you shape the strategic direction of the Cosmetics category while amplifying the priorities for CVS Retail. In this role, you will:
  • Deliver sales and margin goals by attaining market share and thoughtfully managing all lines of the category P&L
  • Lead and manage vendor relationships, collaborating and negotiating extensively with manufacturers and vendors to ensure brand and product strategies drive sales and profitability, as well as creating assortments and experiences (both physical & digital) that drive trust & trips with our customers
  • Develop and implement category plans (i.e., plan optimal SKU mix; Extracare loyalty program; weekly, seasonal, annual promotional programs) for merchandising programs that reflect deep personal knowledge of our businesses, customers and clients
  • Initiate and execute strategic promotional strategies and marketing plans by collaborating internally with CVS partners (e.g., Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design and Store Operations) and supplier partners
  • Lead and develop other colleagues including but not limited to Category Managers, Assistant Category Managers and specialists (up to team of 10)
  • Collaborate with internal & external partners to deliver compelling experiences (e.g., physical formats, at shelf distortion, beauty technology) that align with the broader Beauty strategy
  • Partner closely with the CVS Digital team to strengthen the CVS.com position within the market, ensuring beauty omni capabilities are an integral part of the experience
  • Develop and continually sustain a strong understanding of current competition as well as search out new competitive opportunities

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ Years of buying/merchant experience
  • 2+ years managerial experience, leading a team
  • Ability to understand and synthesize data to make decisions and recommend viable solutions
  • Excellent presentation skills. Required to demonstrate a high level of confidence and point of view and poise in front of Senior Management.
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Able to lead and inspire team with a high level of professional maturity. Committed to positive leadership by fostering an environment of trust, passion and pride.
  • Ability to listen, negotiate and resolve conflicts with all levels of management
-Excellent problem-solving skills - able to identify, analyze and propose solutions Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, "self- starter" environment serving as a catalyst for change and managing multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
