We are hiring Direct Support Professionals! Life Centers of Kansas provides both Residential and Day Program Services to support individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) through Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) for Kansas Medicaid beneficiaries. We are dedicated to providing individualized care that enriches the lives of all those whom we serve. Since our founding in early 2008, we’ve developed the expertise, have accumulated the experience and continually maintain specialized skills to care for individuals who may have more challenging support needs.

Life Centers of Kansas began out of a passion for providing a better option for adults with intellectual disabilities. Our will to break the mold on what group home living can be, drove us to turn hard work and inspiration into what Life Centers has become today. Since that time, our mission remains the same.

Life Centers of Kansas facilities and homes are located in Johnson County Kansas.

Life Centers of Kansas Residential Services operate 2:30pm-9am Monday-Friday and weekends. Various shift opportunities currently available. $14.50/hour entry level pay.**high priority hiring for weekday availability 2:30pm-9pm** ** high priority hiring for weekend availability 9am-9pm**

Position Requirements

Qualified applicants must have the following:

  • Strong desire, compassion and ability to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Capable of working effectively with a team
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate one of our company vehicles, which include mini-vans, 12 and 15-passenger vans and wheelchair lift vans (REQUIRED FOR ALL SHIFTS, EVEN OVERNIGHTS)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Successfully pass criminal background check and random drug screens
  • The ability to physically assist and transfer individuals to/from wheelchairs from/to other seating and beds
  • The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • The ability to stand, walk and/or bend and squat for 6-8 hours
  • The ability to utilize a desktop computer effectively for documentation and record keeping
  • The flexibility to work a shift or location other than the one you were initially hired to work
  • Must have the ability to utilize the internet to access your personal e-mail and to view and confirm your schedule when posted
  • Will be required to be at work when scheduled and work your entire shift
