Position Overview

The Designer, Digital Media will combine their creativity and technical skills to create and produce videos, motion graphics, and animations for a wide range of digital mediums, including corporate videos, coded responsive emails, websites, interactive digital display ads, social media videos, and more. The position is responsible for concepting, designing, storyboarding, and producing effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative for use by corporate communications, product marketing, and web teams across the organization. The position will also require expertise with InDesign as many print collateral files are leveraged to create digital assets. The individual will work closely with Creative Managers, Marketing Managers, Digital Marketing, and corporate leadership to develop innovative, engaging, and industry-leading digital assets. The Designer, Digital Media will work with artists and illustrators in the conceptualization phase, produce mock-ups, improve the quality of existing graphics, and run user testing on websites and devices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Produce digital media assets for videos, websites, product graphics, web logos, social media videos and graphics, email campaigns, and email templates.
  • Translate product positioning, existing research, and offline/online Marketing strategies into effective designs.
  • Edit raw video footage and stock footage by adding effects/elements/voiceover to enhance motion graphics.
  • Create storyboards (as needed) to bring brand content to life and adhering to documented brand standards.
  • Work with Creative Services Directors, Creative Managers, Communications Director, and the Digital Marketing team to translate and create marketing requirements into compelling, appropriate campaigns and designs.
  • Translate wireframes into simple, easy-to-use user interfaces.
  • Ensure consistency of brand and creative across digital customer touch points.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands and timelines.
  • Have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working with technical writers, subject matter experts, designers, developers, and alike to achieve the deliverable goals.

Requirements
  • BS or MA degree in video production, motion graphics, animation, educational technology, instructional design, or similar required.
  • 5–7 years of professional multimedia design experience: video editing, animation designer, motion graphics, and storyboarding, preferably at a digital agency or in-house Web team for a product-driven business.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite products (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Animate, Premiere Elements, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Visual design skills (Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience with 2D and 3D animation and working with voice-over talent to provide inflection points, with the ability to time recorded voice-overs to video and motion content.
  • Strong portfolio of design work, showing solution to business problems through effective design.
  • Experience in web marketing/web design with a strong knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, and Illustrator; knowledge of web content management system a plus.
