Digital Breaking News Editor

The Opelika-Auburn News, a division of Lee Enterprises, is seeking
a qualified journalist to manage an online breaking news team that starts

early in the day and mines social media and websites in order to
break news, updates ongoing stories, and provide interesting, entertaining and important information for our audience.
In this role you would work with colleagues in the newsroom to
generate a digital news report that is urgent, strikes to the heart of what's
really happening in our community, and consistently delivers content that our audience can't get anywhere else; while increasing digital traffic.
Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree
• A minimum of two years'
  editorial experience
• Experience managing digital
  content and social media platforms
• Effective problem-solving skills including the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and make decisions
• Strong organizational and project-management skills
• Solid news judgement
