Job Description
As a Dietitian Clinical Specialist 2, you will provide safe and therapeutic nutritional care in a comprehensive and systematic manner. To help achieve our mission, you will incorporate differences into the provision of care by integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Acting as a resource to physicians, nurses and other allied professional healthcare team members to provide patients with optimum nutritional care is of vital importance. Providing nutrition education to patients, families and hospital staff is expected. Communicating effectively and working cooperatively with others while displaying respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines is required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists healthcare team members with documentation related to nutrition. Develops and revises patient education materials and evaluates effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and incorporates their expertise to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assists CNM and/or Lead RDN in completing quarterly peer chart audits (volume to be determined by CNM).
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and assists in the resolution of conflict among healthcare team members, patients and families.
  • Coordinates and leads an interdisciplinary team initiative annually that focuses on improving patient experience.
  • Assists in achieving compliance with private, local and federal regulatory standards.
  • Recognizes behaviors that impact team function and implements strategies to optimize teamwork.
  • Serves as a clinical mentor for team members while participating in interdisciplinary committee assignments to further clinical nutrition practice.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Four years of experience as an RDN with one year of experience in a specialty area such as ICU or Oncology.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree with Accredited Dietetic Internship AND a specialty certification.

Certification:

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN); CSG; CSOWM, CSO, CSP, CSPCC, CSR, CSSD CNSC, or CDECE.
