Job Description

Position Summary:
ChesPenn is looking for a skilled, patient service-oriented dental assistant to join our team. The dental assistant will prepare dental operatories, assist the dentist chairside, take X-rays, sterilize instruments, assist with administrative tasks, and may also be asked to work at the front desk as needed.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification for radiology is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent patient service skills
  • Good computer skills.
  • Able to file alphabetically and numerically.
  • Ability to meet approved minimal physical and medical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, accompany them to the operatory, and inquire regarding the reason for their visit
  • Assist dentists chairside
  • Take X-rays
  • Prepare operatories between patient visits
  • Maintain instruments
  • Prepare models
  • Assist at the front desk as needed
  • Assist with clerical tasks as needed

Work environment:
The primary work environment is a busy multi-cultural ambulatory care setting. Exposure to infectious disease and bloodborne pathogens is possible.
