Demand Planning Manager

We create products that inspire adventure for people of all ages and experience levels. Join our team as a Demand Planning Manager. Be the champion of business intelligence leading your team as we constantly evolve to meet the needs of our customers and consumers.

In this role, you will create and maintain analytical forecast models for suppliers, consumers, and customers incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Development) as well as retailer replenishment analysts and other sources (i.e. Nielsen or other syndicated consumer data).

What You Will Do
  • Lead the Demand Planning team and ensure collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop monthly/weekly forecasts for specific product(s)/customer(s)/channel(s) as assigned/needed based on the business needs and maintain forecasts that align with the strategies and objectives of the business over an 18 months horizon.
  • Manage performance, provide coaching, feedback and development plans to the Demand Planning Team in order to keep high performance team. Recruit, hire, and on-board new talent as required.
  • Manage S&OP Process with the Director of Demand and Supply Planning through developing KPIs and reports to track and give visibility of the whole Demand planning performance cycle impacted by all involved areas, compiling customer forecast accuracy and bias data and drive proactive action plans to address issues/gaps including constructive challenging of the sales and operations teams as required.
  • Challenge the status-quo of Demand Planning models and processes across the organization.
  • Utilize and optimize forecasting tools (SAP-SCM) and exception reporting in collaboration with the IT Team to improve sales forecasting at various aggregation levels and develop scalable systematic solutions for future growth and continues process improvement.
  • Support Finance and Sales area with the Director of Demand & Supply Planning to improve profitability, by advising the best mix of product, considering Sell-in and Sell-out performance, KPI performance, turns, and gross margin through the Life Cycle Management of SKUs.
  • Leads the generation of demand inputs for the annual budgeting process.
  • Oversee the demand planning team and their analysis of product sell through, customer inventories, collaborated KPIs and proactively offer incremental customer orders compared to replenishment orders and/or proactively suggest changes in their forecasts, KPI’s, settings, etc.
  • Compliance to SOX, internal controls and all company policies set by Pacific Cycle Inc. and Dorel Sports.
  • Contribute to the success of Pacific Cycle Inc. by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Experience & Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economy, Administration, Supply Chain or closely related field is required
  • 5 years of prior experience, preferably in a seasonal industry given industry planning dynamics
  • Proven success in an inventory management and/or supply planning, MRP, forecasting, or closely related role
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems as well as Excel and Data Base applications
  • Strong business analytical skills; statistics and scenarios analysis; microeconomics; strong knowledge of S&OP and the demand planning process; forecast and planning; working knowledge of software related to demand planning is preferred; strong time management and organizational skills
