Job Summary

As the Data Warehouse Supervisor, you will supervise and manage the DHS Data Warehouse team (including system administration staff and ETL programmers), the DHS Data Warehouse system (hardware, software, and associated platforms), the Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration team, and the Microsoft SQL Server environment. Additionally, you will provide advanced professional knowledge and skills in the areas of data warehousing and data management and develop and implement the requirements definition, determination of alternative solutions, design, implementation and support for the data warehouse needs of DHS, partners and customers, including project management for assigned work.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications on their resume:

Positions require a minimum of three (3) years of experience in data warehousing and relational database development.

Experience must include:

  • Database design and development
  • Data extraction and cleansing
  • Use of query tools and query management
  • Data base security
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lead work or supervisory experience
  • Experience supporting Teradata data warehouse platform
  • Experience with Linux administration
  • Experience with large database workload management
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
  • Knowledge of the state’s budget and accounting system sufficient to monitor the budget
  • Understanding DHS business needs, programs, clients/customers, organizational structure, and procedures sufficient to integrate strategic systems plans with other DHS operations
  • Experience communicating with technical staff about broad organizational and strategic and tactical directions and issues
  • Experience managing service level expectations
  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts
  • Strong ability to identify, conceptualize, analyze and solve problems, and recommend effective and integrated solutions
  • Decision making ability sufficient to make timely definitive decisions with consideration to political, employee, and resource variables
  • Ability to communicate on both a technical and non-technical level
  • A high degree of creative analytic and problem solving skills
  • Ability to plan, lead, and provide work direction and guidance to others
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods and techniques of systems analysis and design in a large mainframe environment
