Job Description

The CTI Data Services group is the leading organization to defining and implementing the firm-wide data strategy for the future. It is responsible to design and deliver foundational data capabilities that cover wide range of technologies, such as data modelling, data cataloging, data lineage and tracing, data security and privacy, data warehousing, and document management. The Data Modelling Architecture Group Manager will manage several resources and require in-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the service area.

The Data Services service area engineers, certifies and operates core data platforms for the bank, including databases, data lakes, messaging infrastructures, data analytics and reporting tools. It seeks a Data Modelling Architecture Group Manager to assist with creating data modelling standards, data platform design and overall data architecture for the firm. This position requires a comprehensive and hands-on experience in data modelling and related technologies, including theories and practices relevant to MOF/UML, Object Oriented modelling, as well as implementation of these architecture design in large scale financial applications. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives. Strong communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences including senior technologists across the firm.


Responsibilities

  • Working with Data Architects to design and implement a large scale data modelling architecture for the firm that covers all aspects of data modelling, e.g. model creation, model life cycle management, model quality assurance.
  • Select implementation methodologies and technologies for system build-out and integration with others application systems to establish Model Driven Architecture
  • Design and implement part of the foundational data capability solutions including logical data models, logical queries framework and logical model to model transformations.
  • Design and implement Data Contracts to facilitate data integration and interoperability
  • Design and implement a logical data DSL enabling application developers
  • Create code generation framework for multiple programming languages, including but not limiting to Java, Python, JavaScript and SQL
  • Build prototypes and conduct proof of concepts based on technology selections
  • Influences senior leaders in technology and data management across the firm
  • Documenting models and designs in formal industry standards, such as UML/OCL/RDF/ERD
  • Manages an architecture functional area.
  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations and other personnel actions.
  • Maintains continuous awareness of business, technical and infrastructure issues and acts as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
  • Has in depth knowledge of how technology integrates within the organization and of direct competitors products and services.


Qualifications

  • 12+ years’ hands-on experience in complex programming projects
  • Extensive experience in programming language, compiler technology
  • Experience in code generation from formal data models
  • Extensive experience in design and implementation of large and mission critical platforms and applications
  • Expert level understanding and hands-on experience with all data platform technologies, e.g. SQL, no-SQL, in-memory database, graph databases, search engines, messaging middleware, reporting and data analytic platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of object oriented, semantic web and relational data modelling standards and practices
  • Ability to produce high quality code
  • Ability to coach and lead a small agile team to build industrial strength software
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to develop working relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • A thought leader and creative thinker


Education

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
