Overview:

The Data Entry Shipping Clerk is a member of the Shipping and Receiving Team and is responsible for managing the administrative functions. You will use your experience and training to support the team according to standards and timelines as provided by your Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from vendors; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing team.
• Verifies and records all items received into and shipped from the shipping department.
• Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records.
• Maintains database of shipment data to ensure all departments are updated with correct information.
• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Handle all department scanning, filing and organizing as needed.
• Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
• Ability to type 40wpm.
• Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Efficient time management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• General knowledge of construction and/or manufacturing operations.
• At least two years of related experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, pick, pinch, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motion.
• Medium work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Visual activity to perform and activity such as: operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
• Subject to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, vibration, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
• Function in narrow aisles or passageways.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
