Currently, we have an opening within our Customer Service Department for a Customer Service- Representative.

This position will act as a liaison and advocate to our Customers by providing excellent customer service on products and services as well as resolve any issues in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. The person filling this position must be adaptable to ever-changing business environments and departmental need changes as well as interdepartmental, general business, and customer communication and confidentiality. This position is an exempt salary position and will report directly to the Customer Service Manager.

The Primary Duties and Responsibilities for this position are:

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Listen and understand customer needs - answer customer questions regarding products, prices, availability, and product uses.

· Quote prices, quantities, credit terms, warranties, shipping and delivery terms.

· Consult with customers after sales or contract signings to understand their requirements and provide ongoing support.

· Fulfill customer product requests and follow-up with customers after delivery.

· Resolve reported customer problems and follow-up to ensure that identified problems do not reoccur.

· Proactively review and update assigned accounts on open orders, cases, returns, and credit-related items.

· Review and process return material authorization (RMA) requests from customers.

· Participate in quarterly account reviews for customers associated with the sales department.

· Qualify and set up new accounts.

· Maintain assigned account databases and profiles.

· Inform the Team Lead of competitive situations regarding price, delivery, QC, or credit issues.

· Support credit department in resolving credit issues.

· Create and maintain customer forecasts in association with the sales department.

· Support sales and marketing campaigns by communicating with customers on features and new products.

Other Non-Essential Functions:

· Control Costs by proactively controlling expenses and eliminating of waste

· Contribute to a team effort by proactively assisting internal contacts

· Attend training programs to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.

· All other duties assigned.

Requirements for this position are:

· High School Diploma or equivalent; and

· Five (5) years prior customer service/sales experience (MUST be manufacturing or distribution-related experience).

· Strong understanding of supply chain processes.

· Strong business acumen.

· Strong Verbal and Written Communications Skills.

· Excellent Phone Skills.

· Self-Motivated with Strong Follow-Up Skills.

Preferred

· 4-year degree in business or related field

· Prior experience with boating, marine, or related manufacturing industries

· Experience with overseas supply chain processes.

· Experience managing accounts worth in excess of $1 mil annually.

· Prior experience with Syspro or Salesforce.com is a plus

· Mechanically inclined

· Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical requirements and environmental conditions:

· Continuous contact with other people requiring communications via face-to-face, orally by telephone, and various written methodologies

· Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

· Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods

· Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly long distances or moving from one work site to another.

· Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.

· Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, receiving detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.

· Visual Acuity: Able to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
