Job Description

Performs basic janitorial duties, minor building maintenance tasks, and grounds-keeping, maintaining a safe, clean and pleasant atmosphere for students, faculty and staff.


Duties:

Performs daily cleaning of classrooms and offices such as; dusting, taking out trash, cleaning windows, vacuuming, wiping down base boards and cleaning cobwebs from ceilings.

Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of restrooms.

Performs minor repairs and assists maintenance technician in major repairs.

Replaces light bulbs, ballast, ceiling titles, etc.

Maintains grounds by mowing, weed-eating, planting and watering, picking up trash, and snow removal.

Moves and assembles furniture or equipment for room setups, including simple installation of wall mounted instructional aids (blackboards, marker boards, etc).

Operates forklift and lawn equipment.

Performs floor maintenance such as; shampooing carpet, sweeping, moping, striping, waxing and buffing.

Is responsible for setup during special events.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED
