Position Title: Floral Clerk
Accountable to: Floral Lead
Job Overview: Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Handles floral goods in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat. Reviews the status and appearance of the merchandise for freshness. Stocks, rotates and faces product, cut, sort produce deliveries, build displays as required to ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.

• Primary emphasis in this position is on meeting daily needs in stocking, load cutting, sorting and display building, product availability and provide high level of customer service.
• Required production speed in cutting, sorting and stocking and product knowledge.
• Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.
• Reviews the status and appearance of the flowers for freshness.
• Anticipates product needs for the department on a daily basis.

• Receive product, unload trucks and sorts floral loads as assigned, check product received for correct type and amount, properly log information and check invoices, verify product quality, freshness and checks for damage, code and date all product for cooler storage.
• Responsible for proper inventory control (pricing, stocking, ordering).
• Perform clean-up of sales floor and back room as necessary, pick up/compacts cardboard, stack pallets, clean up spills, store overstock, clean shelves, racks as needed. Ensure department is swept and sweep log is current.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
• Follow all store and department policies and procedures
  

Job Requirements:

• Lifting may exceed 50 lbs., walking, moderate to heavy lifting, and operation of pallet jack and box cutter, equipment operation (calculator), squatting, stooping/bending and walking.
• Must be able to solve arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; request supplies orally or in writing.

• Must have the ability to handle refrigerated and frozen levels of temperature when retrieving product from freezer.
• Must be able to work shifts varying in length and times, including nights, weekends and holidays.
