Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking COVID Testing Assistants for Rutgers Health Services. These positions will assist with COVID Testing for University students, faculty, and staff across New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden.

    Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Assists with COVID testing for students and employees.
  • Coordinates testing using the REHS’ COVID Test Database.
  • Provides direction for COVID testing designated for use in the university’s COVID testing program (e.g. saliva), distribute kits, and provide support for testing provided through multiple methods including, but not limited to walk-up, departmental and drive through testing, walk-up, and drive through testing.
  • Prepares test kits and labels for distribution via departmental, individual, or other testing methods.
  • Answers questions or phone calls from individuals about testing, locations, hours, or results.

Position Salary $40830.40 – $48027.20 – $55244.80

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.


Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s license is strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare background or experience preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Office and service provision experience.
  • Basic computer and phone skills.
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple populations and problem-solve.
  • Ability to be flexible when necessary.


Equipment Utilized
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office.
  • REHS COVID testing database.


Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves and surgical mask) throughout shift and follow good infection control procedures (frequent handwashing, cleaning of surfaces, etc.)
  • Ability to move moderate (up to 30 lbs) weight supplies and resources as necessary.
  • Use of personal car occasionally in order to transport materials across various campus locations.

  • Clean driving record.
  • Multiple positions available.
  • Positions will support and work in New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden.
