Job Description
CounselorBehavioral Health Group (BHG), a leading provider of opioid addiction treatment services.   • Comply with all State, regulatory and BHG requirements for quality patient care, confidentiality and privacy
  • Provide Counseling and TCM services to patients
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions as required
  • Orient patients to the treatment program’s services, operation and procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, complete and well-organized patient records
  • Make appropriate referrals through case management services
  • Provide intake/readmission services, including several weeks of supportive follow-up counseling for new patients until a primary counselor has been assigned
  • Provide crisis intervention/support services to patients
  • Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of experience in behavioral health, preferably in an outpatient setting
  • Minimum State licensure/education as follows:
    • Colorado: Certified Addiction Counselor II/III (CAC II/III) OR Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
    • Kansas: Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Master’s Addiction Counselor (LMAC), Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC), OR those with a Temporary License (TLAC)
    • Kentucky: Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science field OR Certified Alcohol AND Drug Counselor OR Licensed Clinical Alcohol AND Drug Counselor (LCADC) OR Bachelor's Degree under supervision for Certified Alcohol AND Drug Counselor (CADC) OR Licensed Clinical Alcohol AND Drug Counselor Associate (LCADCA) under supervision
    • Louisiana: Counselor-In-Training (CIT), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC), Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Registered Social Worker (RSW), Certified Social Worker (CSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-BACS, Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), OR a Licensed Professional Counselor
    • Missouri: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Reciprocal Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRADC), Certified Reciprocal Advanced Drug Counselor (CRAADC), Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP), Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP), Co-Occurring Disorders Professional-Diplomat (CCDP-D), Registered Substance Abuse Professional-Provisional (RSAP-P), Recognized Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (RASAC I), Recognized Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (RASAC II)
    • North Carolina: Must be licensed by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), Licensed Clinical Specialist Apprentice (LCAS-A), AND/OR a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
    • South Carolina: Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science field OR Certified Addiction Counselor I/II (CAC I/II), Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, OR Master's Degree in addiction counseling, OR in process of obtaining certification for CACP
    • Tennessee: Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science field OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) OR a Licensed Alcohol AND Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) OR other licensed mental health care professional who meets the qualification of an alcohol AND drug abuse counselor.
    • Virginia: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Substance Abuse Counseling Assistant (CSACA), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioners (LSATP) OR Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC)
