Job Description

Come join an energetic team involved in clinical education of Physician Assistant Students. This position allows for travel to clinical sites such as hospitals and clinics around the country. Applicants are expected to have good social skills and experience with recruitment, sales, and retention efforts is recommended.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports to: Director of Clinical Education [PA]

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting activities related to the clinical education component of the Physician Assistant (PA) program. The Clinical Recruitment & Retention Coordinator (RRC), under the direction of the Director of Clinical Education (DCE), assists with the coordination of clinical recruitment and retention mainly and also assists in development, modification, and maintenance of the clinical rotation schedule for supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator (CC). The RRC in coordination with the DCE and the CC assists in coordinating and managing documentation for a variety of operations, including those of a confidential nature, coordinates schedules for clinical year students, manages files and student records pertaining to credentialing for rotations, and works on special projects related to and in conjunction with the DCE and CC. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. The incumbent must maintain professional, upbeat, and energetic demeanor and work well collaborating with others in a team setting. Comfort with technology and a desire and willingness to further enhance technology skills is important. Frequent travel to clinical sites around the nation as well as meeting with current and prospective preceptors as well as administration is expected. The incumbent is tasked with conducting new and existing site visits as well as vetting new sites for clinical experiences for students. The position requires updating programmatic records on sites and preceptors such as license renewal and credentials. The position requires the incumbent to provide sites and preceptors with information about RMUoHP and the perks of being affiliated with the PA program.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting and Retention

  • Expectation for on-site and in-person travel to recruit new clinical preceptors nationally
  • Visit potential and existing clinical sites nationally
  • Contact potential and existing clinical sites via telephone, email, and in-person visits
  • Conduct new site and existing site visits
  • Participate in the vetting of new clinical sites
  • Update and manage database of preceptor credentials, site visits
  • Participate in the development of new affiliation agreements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with providers, medical groups, and administrators
  • Brief providers on expectations and perks for participating as a clinical preceptor


Marketing

  • Manage preceptor website
  • Participate in marketing and public relations, as directed by the Director of Clinical Education
  • Participate in preceptor retention activities, including appreciation, adjunct faculty management, and applicable events


Administrative

  • Assist in scheduling clinical rotations
  • Assist in management of clinical paperwork
  • Participate in clinical team projects, as directed by the Director of Clinical Education
  • Participate in presentations to students, as directed by the Director of Clinical Education
  • Respond to student correspondence
  • Participate in appropriate professional development
  • Any duties delegated by the Director of Education or Program Director
